What Is Forehead Botox?
Forehead Botox is a prescription injection of onabotulinumtoxinA, a botulinum toxin type A, placed into the frontalis. The frontalis is the broad muscle that runs from the brows up toward the hairline, and lifting the brows is all it does. The injection interrupts the nerve signal reaching that muscle, so it contracts with less force and the skin above it folds less often. The horizontal lines that folding created begin to soften at three to five days, and the full change is visible at about two weeks. The effect lasts three to four months before movement returns. Forehead lines have been an FDA-approved indication for Botox since 2017.
