Crow's Feet Treatment

  • •Lines Ease, Crinkle Stays
  • •Natural Expression
  • •Quick, Focused Appointment
  • •Minimal Downtime

The fine lines that fan from the outer corner of the eye used to disappear when you stopped smiling, and now some of them stay. Botox relaxes the muscle ringing the outer eye, so the skin there folds less and the lines soften over about two weeks while your smile keeps moving.

01

What Is Crows Feet Treatment?

Crows feet treatment is an injection of Botox placed into the orbicularis oculi. That is the ring of muscle around the eye, and the section of it at the outer corner draws the thin skin there into a fan every time a smile or a squint pulls on it. The injection interrupts the nerve signal reaching that section, so it contracts with less force and the skin folds less often through the day. The fanning lines soften within the first several days, the full change is visible at about two weeks, and movement returns gradually over the months that follow.

Crows Feet Treatment at Beauty and Fly

Crow's feet injections at the Bronxville and Bridgehampton offices are placed by Catherine Curtin, MSN, FNP-C. She places a conservative dose at the outer eye first and reviews it once the effect is complete, adding a small amount at that visit if the skin there still creases sharply.

03

Is Crows Feet Treatment Right for You?

  • Crows feet treatment suits adults with lines that fan from the outer corner of the eye, whether those lines appear only with a smile or a squint or stay visible with the face at rest.

  • It addresses the fanning lines at the outer eye, squint lines deepened by years of sun and screens, and an outer corner that reads tired or older than the skin around it.

  • Medical history is reviewed at the consultation. Where thin skin is driving the line, a skin treatment such as NOUVAderm or Vivace RF microneedling is discussed, and anything that makes Botox unsuitable is explained then.

04

What Are the Benefits of Crows Feet Treatment?

The fanning lines at the outer corner soften while the eye keeps crinkling, so that corner looks brighter and more rested and the smile stays recognizable. Lines that show only with a smile or a squint ease the most, and a crease visible at rest looks gentler as treatment is repeated. The injections take a few minutes and most people go straight back into their day. Botox is $15.50 per unit, and the number of units for each side is set at the examination. Consultations are complimentary and there is no deposit.

What Crows Feet Treatment Changes at the Eye

Lines That Fan When You Smile

Lines That Fan When You Smile

Ease the pull at the outer eye and the fan of lines shows up less sharply when you smile or squint. The crinkle stays, it just reads softer.

Treatments+

Small doses go into mapped points at the outer corner. The amount is kept light, so the muscle still folds the skin a little when you smile.

Causes+

The skin at the outer eye is the thinnest on the face. Years of smiling fold it in the same place, and the crease stops flattening out in between.

What Happens After Your Appointment

Immediate (Treatment Day)

Treatment day · straight back out

The appointment is short and the tiny marks fade quickly. You go straight back into your day. Catherine asks you to keep pressure off the outer eye for the first few hours, and to skip hard workouts and heat that day.

First Week (Early Softening)

First week · the fan softens

Across the first several days the outer-eye muscle relaxes. The fan at the corner starts looking smoother when you smile, and because it happens gradually, nothing about your expression shifts overnight.

Full Effect (About Two Weeks)

Two weeks · rested eye area

By around two weeks the full effect has arrived. The outer corner looks smoother and brighter while your smile still looks like yours. This is the visit where Catherine reviews the result and decides whether a small addition is needed.

Experience at the Outer Eye

Crow’s Feet Treatment by Catherine

Catherine Curtin, MSN, FNP-C, has nearly 20 years of experience in aesthetic injectables. At the outer eye, the first question is how much of the line is muscle. Where thin skin or lost volume drives the line, a different treatment addresses it.

The ring muscle around the eye is thin, and it sits close to the muscle holding your lower lid. That closeness is why this corner is treated sparingly and well clear of the lid margin.

Catherine shows you where each dose will go at the outer eye and what it will do to the lines there. She also tells you what to expect over the first two weeks, and when the result is reviewed.

The points go on the upper part of the fan, where the pull at the outer corner is strongest. Lines closest to the lower lid are not treated, because relaxing the muscle there can make the lid feel heavy. Catherine marks each point against your own movement.

How Your Crows Feet Treatment Plan Is Decided

This treatment takes a small number of placements around each eye, chosen from how your muscles move.

Tap to flip

Muscle Mapping First

Anatomy-led

Mapping comes first. The part of the ring muscle pulling hardest at the outer corner differs from face to face, so Catherine marks the points on your own muscle and places small doses there, where the creasing starts.

Tap to flip

Conservative Dosing

Natural expression

The first dose is conservative, including for a line visible at rest, with a check at two weeks. The lines ease while your eyes still crinkle, and your smile stays recognizably yours.

Tap to flip

Follow-Up at Two Weeks

Included

Every crow's feet treatment includes a follow-up visit about two weeks later. The first dose is conservative, and at that visit Catherine checks how the lines softened and adds a small amount if one corner needs it.

A full-face assessment comes before any single treatment.

Complimentary consultation. No deposit. A card holds the time.

FAQ

Crow’s Feet Questions Patients Ask Most

What patients ask about crow’s feet and Botox, answered before your visit at Beauty and Fly.

Crow's feet are priced by the unit, and Botox is $15.50 a unit. The outer eye takes a modest amount on each side, and the number depends on how strongly that muscle pulls. You leave your complimentary consultation with the unit count and the full figure, and there is no deposit. Members pay less; the figures are on the Beauty Bank page.

The Botox label for lateral canthal lines, the clinical name for crow's feet, puts it at 12 units a side, placed as four units at three points. That is a reference point. A strong squint can sit above it, and a faint line with little muscle behind it sits below. Your own number comes after Catherine has assessed the corner.

Softening usually holds for a few months before movement comes back gradually. Most patients prefer to book before it has fully worn off, so the lines never quite reset and the result stays even over time.

No. The injections go only into the ring muscle at the outer corner of the eye, which is separate from the muscles that shape the mouth. Doses there are kept small and the placements sit on the upper part of the fan, so the lines ease while the eye still crinkles when you laugh.

You will notice the lines starting to give within the first several days, as movement at the outer corner eases. The full effect usually shows around the two-week mark, which is also when Catherine reviews the result and sets your next visit.

Most people describe a brief pinch at each point and then nothing. The skin at the outer corner is thin, which keeps the placements shallow, and there are only a few per side. The whole thing takes a few minutes and needs no numbing.

Not entirely. Botox softens the lines that show when you smile or squint, and early fine lines around the eye often smooth well. A crease already etched in looks gentler while staying visible, because that part is skin quality. For those Catherine recommends a skin treatment once the Botox has taken full effect, usually NOUVAderm or Vivace RF microneedling.

A small bruise at the outer corner happens, because the skin there is thin and the vessels sit close to the surface. It resolves on its own. What is not expected is a lid that feels heavy or sits lower, and if you notice either, come in so Catherine can look. Pressure on the area is the thing to avoid that day.

Small doses of Botox are injected into the muscle ringing the outer corner of the eye, where those rays show up when you smile or squint. Relaxing that pull lets the skin fold less often, so the lines soften across the following two weeks while your expression carries on working. You go straight back to your day from here.

Into the muscle that rings the outer corner of each eye, at points chosen for the way your own lines fan out. How deep those lines sit differs from one face to the next, so Catherine marks yours and shows you the map before the first placement goes in.
